Keyif Motel is situated on the ancient Lycian Way, hiking trail between Fethiye and Antalya. The most beautiful part of Lycian Way, one of the longest trekking routes in the world, starts from Ovacik and ends in Arinca. We are on the 15th km of this 30 km route and the path passes just from our doorsill. You may provide yourself a lot of oxygen and improve your body condition with little walks in the mornings or evening hours in summers.
Butterfly Valley protected by UNESCO is situated just below us. It is possible to walk down this valley for those who are trained and do not fear of heights. The deep blue sea and Jersey tiger moths flying around the waterfall welcome you here. Another way to reach this fascinating valley is to use the boats departing from Ölüdeniz.
Ölüdeniz & Belcekiz Beach
Ölüdeniz is only at a distance of 7 km to us. It is one of the most beautiful and most photographed beaches in the world. This is a place where holiday-makers visiting this region do not leave before stopping by and it has also an interesting story. I would like to share this story with you: It is not possible to see Belcekiz coasts when you look from the open sea. Use the short channel with 90 degree angle when you come closer to the shore of Ölüdeniz. Once upon a time, on a stormy day. A boat of a father and son were caught by the storm in front of Yediburunlar. Wild waves would almost sink the boat. The son was in love with a girl named Belcekiz. The son often used to come here to see the girl living in this area. He knew the place well. He told his father, “There is a bay behind the rocks. Let’s go closer to the rocks.” His father did not believe him. He claimed that the boat would crash and they would die if they went closer to the rocks. While they were fighting, the father pushed the son to the sea with a row thinking they were going towards the rocks and he caused his son to die when they crashed the rocks. The father saw Ölüdeniz after a while. He brought the boat near the beach. He was rescued but he mourned for the death of his son for days. He cried to the sea. And when Belcekiz heard that her lover died, she threw herself to the sea. Since then, the place where the son died is called Ölüdeniz while the place where the girl died is called Belcekiz.
We recommend you to experience flying from 1975 m high towards Ölüdeniz by paragliding (as tandem flight). But make sure you fly with professional companies.
It is a typical and active coastal town. You may do your shopping when you visit the seafront and relax with the joy of massage in traditional Turkish bath. You may visit the tombs of King Amintas sculptured on rocks or the archaeological museum. You may also go to Greek Rhodes Island from Fethiye by ferry.
Abandoned Greek Town: Kayaköy This abandoned residential area on a fertile land and quiet village houses below are really worth visiting.
